World Oceans Day - June 8 - belated featureIt was the Canadian government, at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio, that first mooted the idea of World Oceans Day. In 1998, UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission lent its support to this international Day of celebration. Since 2003, World Oceans Day has been coordinated jointly by the World Ocean Network and the American association, The Ocean Project.

My thoughts on 'Marine Parks'
You know, in this 3 decades, we have made marvelous, previously unthinkable advances in technology, cell phones, interne, compact computers, digital downloads, mp3 players, yet, million, possibly billions of dollars is made on an act that is lodged in the past; keeping animals, previously wild, too big to be kept in cages, non-pets, for entertainment. This crime can be seen at places like Marine Land, Sea World, and other various places of the like. Now, some people call them "parks" I call them animal concentration camps. The Orca, an animal that swims thousands of miles per year, cooped up in a small little tank, a creature, who lives in the wild, for 50-70 years, with almost a hundred family members, relegated to less than 30 years, alone for it's life.
