DOLPHIN'S SLAUGHTER: in Japan, in the Taiji Cove, in fall & winter, every year, over 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are killed by Japanese fisherman; even more shocking, the captive dolphin industry and marine parks around the world are willing accomplices to the kill paying as much as $100,000.00 per captive dolphin.
Last year alone in Taiji, over 150 dolphins were captured and sold!
Even with all the attention created on this horrific Japanese custom by the award winning documentary film " The Cove ", the killing in Taiji continues.( Please watch the documentary The Cove, the images are very powerful and it will change your view on captive dolphins, I guarantee it )
The brutal massacre, the largest dolphin kill in the world, goes on for six month of every year from October through April.
The type of dolphins captured and killed include: bottle-nose dolphins, stripe dolphins, pilot whales, false killer whales, spotted dolphins, and Risso's dolphins.Since the hunts began and to date over 400,000 porpoises have been slaughtered and much of the dolphin and porpoise meat from the killing is sold and finds it way to Japanese markets labeled as whale meat.
IT'S TIME TO STOP THIS SENSELESS KILLING NOW!!! PLEASE JOIN THE FIGHT!
Here is what you can do:
1 - Write to the Japanese prime minister Noda Yoshihiko, and tell him that you will not purchase any Japanese products or visit Japan until they stop the killing and capturing of dolphins and whales. You can go on THE WHALEMAN FONDATION web site, they have a place to click to translate your letter in Japanese language.
2 - Please, do not participate in any captive swim-with the dolphins activity in vacations resorts.
3 - Do not support or visit any marine park, zoo, or amusement park that has captive dolphins and whales.
These animals are supposed to be free and when you pay to go to see them in a park, you'll encourage their capture and their death!
EACH ONE OF US CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH OUR ACTIONS AND OUR CHOICES... Please help.

A quote by Jacques Yves Cousteau
" No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. No dolphins or marine mammals who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands parks can be considered normal."
Jacques Yves Cousteau.
Now, here is a quote from me:
Remember this: Every time you encourage a marine park by buying a ticket to see the marine mammals captive there, or on a vacation in a resort with a swim with captive dolphins, you are contributing to their captures and helping keeping them prisoners! It is as simple as that! And yes there is still capture!

A little info's on those white whales:
Belugas are fund in Arctic and Subarctic waters along the northern coasts of Canada, Alaska, Russia, Norway and Greenland. It is estimated that between 72,000 and 144,000 belugas lives in Canadian waters.
These animals are distributed in the Western Arctic ( Beaufort Sea ), High Arctic ( Lancaster Sound, Baffin Bay), Eastern Arctic ( Cumberland Sound and Southern Baffin, Hudson Bay, James Bay and Ungava Bay ) and in the St-Lawrence Estuary.
This is where I come from, in Quebec, and I have the privilege to be able to go observe them at the site where the St-Lawrence and the Saguenay Rivers meet, at only just about 60 kilometers from my house
SOME FACTS ABOUT DOLPHINS.
SOME FACTS ABOUT DOLPHINS!
Dolphins are well known for their intellect, their gregarious nature, their sociability and their acrobatic ability; but did you know that to prevent drowning while sleeping only half of the dolphin's brain goes to sleep while the other half remains awake so they can continue to breathe!
TREATS TO DOLPHINS: as the seas and the oceans warms up, dolphins are being seen more frequently in colder waters outside their historic ranges. Due to the rapidly rising oceans temperatures, the dolphins primary food sources are seeking deeper cooler waters. Scientists are very concerned that dolphins will have difficulty adaptin
